Capt. John Meskauskas - Stuart
The fishing is Stuart is fantastic right now. This is a great time of year to fish for Trout. Catches of 70+ 15-20" fish a day are possible. Look for them in 3-5' of water on the flats. The fly of choice are Borski's Bonefish Sliders on full clear intermediate lines. The clear lines make a huge difference in your hook up ratio. Along with the Trout, there's lots of Jack Crevelle schools containing 30-50 fish making hit and runs on bait schools. These fish are averaging 6-8 pounds and teaser plugs work well to keep them in casting range. Spanish Macks are running along the beach and thick in Peck's Lake. Mixed in with the Mackerel are Bluefish and Ladyfish. If you looking for Snook, fish structures like seawalls, bridges, and docks at first and last light.
